The Olin circulation desk is the central point of contact on campus for checking out and returning library materials, learning about library resources and services, borrowing laptops, DVDs and other media, picking up items requested through Borrow Direct and Interlibrary Loan, and obtaining help on a wide variety of library-related and campus-related questions.
The circulation staff will page materials from closed areas in Olin Library (related to the ongoing Fire Safety Project), will deliver requested materials to faculty, will help with accessibility and special needs accommodations and will help answer questions related to library policies, guest borrowing privileges and off-site access to electronic resources.
In addition to being a central service point for checkout and return, Uris Library houses course reserve materials in the humanities, social sciences and many other disciplines. When classes are in session during the Fall and Spring semesters, Uris Library is open 24 hours/day Sunday through Thursday; during this period, the hours from 2am to 8am are for study and computer use only (no library services).
The library spaces include large and small study rooms with wireless access throughout the building. The historic and beautiful White Library offers comfortable seating in a 19th century interior. Other spaces include an electronic classroom available for teaching, and a very popular "Cocktail Lounge" with panoramic views of Libe Slope, comfortable seating, ample outlets for laptops, and private study rooms which can be reserved for up to two hours per day.
