Each January, the Cornell University Library offers an immersion program for PhD students in the humanities and social sciences. The program’s aim is to provide participants with the technologies, tools, and research skills to become more efficient scholars.
The program comprises a series of hands-on workshops, demonstrations, and group discussions that cover topics such as file and information management, the economics of academic publishing, keeping on top of current scholarship, managing copyright, subject-based research, tools and strategies for archival research, image searching, open access publishing, and introduction to data visualization and text mining.
Immersion 2023 will take place in person on Thursday and Friday, January 12, 13 and Tuesday and Wednesday, January 17, 18, 2023. Applications are due by midnight (EST) on December 4, and decisions will be made by 5pm on December 6, 2022. Apply now.
If you have any questions or comments about the program, please get in touch with us.
