Each January, the Cornell University Library offers an immersion program for PhD students in the humanities and social sciences. The program’s aim is to provide participants with the technologies, tools, and research skills to become more efficient scholars.
The program comprises a series of hands-on workshops, demonstrations, and group discussions that cover topics such as file and information management, the economics of academic publishing, keeping on top of current scholarship, managing copyright, subject-based research, tools and strategies for archival research, image searching, open access publishing, and an introduction to digital humanities and text mining.
Immersion 2025 is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, January 13-14, 2025, and Thursday and Friday, January 16-17, 2025. Instruction will take place from 9 to 5 pm daily, lunches and refreshments provided.
The application period for Immersion 2025 closed December 2, 2024, at noon.
