Each January, the Cornell University Library offers an immersion program for PhD students in the humanities and social sciences. The program’s aim is to provide participants with the technologies, tools, and research skills to become more efficient scholars.
In January 2022, the program will be in-person and will comprise a series of hands-on workshops, demonstrations, break-out sessions, and group discussions that cover such topics as file and information management, the economics of academic publishing, keeping on top of current scholarship, managing copyright, subject-based research, tools and strategies for archival research, image searching, open access publishing, and introduction to data visualization and text mining, and more.
Program dates for 2022: January 13–14 and 18-19. The program will be held in Olin and Uris Libraries on four days, 9am-4:30pm EST
The application period for the January 2022 session is now closed. We will respond to applicants by noon on Dec. 10, 2021.
