Each January, the Cornell University Library offers an immersion program for PhD students in the humanities and social sciences. The program’s aim is to provide participants with the technologies, tools, and research skills to become more efficient scholars.
In January 2021, the program was online, allowing remote participants to experience a series of hands-on workshops, demonstrations, break-out sessions, and group discussions that cover such topics as file and information management, the economics of academic publishing, keeping on top of current scholarship, managing copyright, subject-based research, tools and strategies for archival research, image searching, open access publishing, and introduction to data visualization and text mining, and more.
Program dates for 2021: Tuesday, January 12–Friday, January 22. The program comprised 8 half-day sessions, four days a week, 1-4:30pm EST
The applications for the January 2021 session have now closed.
